Contains information pertaining to the following military unit: Pennsylvania National Guard; 28th U.S. Infantry Division. General description of the collection: The Oswald D. Moore papers include personal correspondence, memoirs, miscellaneous official papers, and clippings on Moore's service with the Pennsylvania National Guard on the Mexican Border and with the 28th Infantry Division in World War I. Also contains material for the 1920's-1940's dealing with his membership in the American Legion, particularly the Henry Houston, 2nd, Post Number 3. Some of these items pertain to the Legion's plans to provide domestic support for the war effort, 1941-1942. Other World War II items include a newspaper on the outbreak of fighting in 1939 and the surrender of Japan in 1945.

Jonas Heil served as a private in the National Guard of Pennsylvania in Captain John F. Schoener's Company C, 7th Regiment; he enrolled on 13 November 1875, and was discharged on 9 May 1876 at Mahanoy City, Pa., for physical disability.
